| Northorp - Irene Olive (nee Penfold) born June 3, 1918 in Winnipeg , Manitoba
passed away unexpectedly in her sleep January 27, 2003 in Langley, B.C. She was
predeceased by her parents Stephen & Lilian Penfold and brother Harold.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Richard; sons Barrie; Lyle
(Doris) of Tucson, AZ; Wayne of Captain Cook, HI; Wesley (Julia) of San Diego,
CA; granddaughters, Laurie of Palm Springs, CA & Jennifer of San Diego, CA;
brother David of 150 Mile House; many nieces and nephews, including Gretchen
Miller of Pacific Palisades, CA and Darlene Jollimore of Castlegar. She was
Cubmaster in Harrison Hot Springs for many years. Her courageous spirit was
evidenced by her ability to overcome polio, which she contracted as a child.
Irene was the heart & soul of our family, who spoke no evil of anyone; a
quiet & gentle lady who supported her family in every way. Her
thoughtfulness and kindness was an inspiration to all of us. She will remain in
our hearts always.
