John Henry Penfold ( Feb.19 , 1901 - Nov.1 , 1962)
Educated at Loyola College , Montreal , where he taught afterwards.
He joined the Jesuit Order and became Priest.
In 1939 he became Chaplain to the Canadian Armed Forces and took his
discharge in 1946.
He arrived in Victoria in
1950 and from 1951 - 1962 he served as Priest to St. John the Baptist
in Comox , where he died. It is likely that he was
buried in the small cemetery next to St.Joseph's Hospital in Comox.
